1. Commitment to Safeguarding

Head First Consulting is committed to promoting the welfare and safety of all children and young people. I fully comply with statutory safeguarding requirements and follow the safeguarding procedures of the school or organisation I am working with.

2. Safeguarding Training & Experience

I am Level 3 safeguarding trained and have previously served as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in a school setting. I maintain up-to-date safeguarding knowledge through regular training in line with statutory guidance.

3. Enhanced DBS

I hold a current Enhanced DBS check, which is available for inspection on request. I will present this, along with photographic ID, when attending onsite consultancy or training.

4. Compliance with KCSIE

I follow the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and understand my responsibilities as a visiting professional working in a school environment.

5. Reporting Concerns

If I become aware of a safeguarding concern during my work:

  • I will immediately report it to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or a deputy DSL.

  • I will not investigate or attempt to resolve any concerns myself.

  • I will follow the school’s safeguarding and reporting procedures at all times.

6. Professional Conduct

While working in schools, I will:

  • follow all visitor protocols

  • sign in and out as required

  • wear identification badges if provided

  • ensure my conduct is appropriate and professional

  • avoid being alone with pupils unless supervised or covered by school policy

7. Data Protection

I comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. I only process personal data necessary for the agreed consultancy or training and do not retain student-identifiable information unless explicitly agreed and essential for the work.

8. Online Safeguarding

For virtual or online sessions:

  • I follow the school’s online safety and safeguarding policies

  • I do not record sessions unless explicitly agreed

  • I do not engage in private communication with pupils outside school systems

9. Review

This statement is reviewed annually or when legislation changes.
